The Phantom XY System was developed with a clear goal in mind: to digitalize the quality assurance process for dental X-ray machines. It is a precise and reliable tool, built from the ground up to simplify and standardize the testing process.

The system is built around three core components which together form a dedicated instrument for evaluating the performance and consistency of digital X-ray systems.

At the center of the system is the universal puck. Inside it are precision-machined 6061 aluminum attenuators that create a consistent test pattern for evaluating X-ray image quality. The outer body is produced using additive manufacturing, allowing for a durable design with carefully controlled geometry. This combination of precision machining and modern manufacturing ensures consistent and repeatable results.

After evaluating multiple design options, we developed an asymmetric pin fixturing system. This design ensures the components align in only one correct orientation, eliminating guesswork during setup. Subtle chamfers help the components slide into place, allowing them to fit together securely while remaining easy to handle.

The intraoral holder positions the sensor to produce consistent test images. The panoramic adapter holds the puck securely within panoramic systems, allowing reliable and consistent scans.

Together, these components form the Phantom XY System. Every element is designed to support precise, repeatable testing while keeping the process simple and efficient for everyday use in clinical environments.
